Quiz Champions of Chennai – 2026
The Second Edition of the Quiz Champions of Chennai, a quiz competition for students of classes 6 to 8, was conducted by KSA Trust across schools in the city during June and July 2026.
The response from schools this year has been truly heartening. While 28 schools participated in the inaugural edition last year, the number nearly doubled to 55 schools in 2026—an impressive growth of over 96%.
One of the key objectives of the Quiz Champions of Chennai programme is to introduce young minds to the inspiring stories of ordinary citizens who have made extraordinary contributions to our city and have been recognised with the Champion of Chennai Award. During the quiz, every participating student received our specially designed Story Card, highlighting the Champion of Chennai initiative and the spirit behind this movement.
Students were encouraged to share these Story Cards with their families and friends and to learn more about the initiative. With more than 1,650 participating students, we have potentially reached over 3,300 parents and thousands of their friends, relatives, and well-wishers.
This expanding community awareness demonstrates the growing impact of the Champions of Chennai initiative and also presents exciting opportunities for future partnerships and sponsorships.

Quiz Champions of Chennai – 2025
KSA Trust, for the first time, conducted a written quiz competition for middle school students across Chennai during June and July 2025. The quiz was expertly curated by Dr. Navin Jayakumar of the Quiz Foundation of India, who is also the recipient of the Champion of Chennai Award for Education – 2023.
The event saw enthusiastic participation from 27 schools, with 531 teams and a total of 1,512 students competing. During the program, the students were made aware of the Champions of Chennai Initiative. They were each given a story card containing brief information about the Champions Initiative and how to nominate them. They were also encouraged to visit our website to learn more about the past champions.
The winners of the Quiz were felicitated with gift vouchers and a plaque by the Chief Guest, Major General M.Indrabalan (Retd), Former Chief of Staff – Dakshin Bharat Area, at our Annual Champions of Chennai award function on the 17th of August 2025.
KSN Senior Secondary School, Thiruvanmyur, emerged as the winner while Maharishi Vidya Mandir, Chetput, was the first runner-up. Shree Venkateswarar Matriculation Higher Secondary School, Royapettah, and Padma Seshadri Bala Bhavan Senior Secondary School, T.Nagar, shared the second runner-up position.
We propose to conduct this Quiz program annually and raise more awareness among the younger generation about “Champions of Chennai.”
